Reports – Revenue & Costs

Analyze project revenues, customer revenues, and profitability in the Revenue & Costs module.

The reports of the Revenue & Costs module are distributed across three sections in the main menu Reports: Projects for revenue- and earnings-related reports, Employees for the employee-related receipts report, and Departments for department-related cost analysis. Which reports are visible depends on role, permission, and the additional modules activated.

Tip: Each of the reports described here can be exported as a file. How the export works, which formats ZEP supports, and how the background export for large data sets works is described in the article Tips & Tricks for Using ZEP in the sections File formats of reports and Run reports automatically.

Projects

Under Reports > Projects, you find the revenue-, earnings- and receipt-related reports around the billable services from recorded project times.

Receipts Report

Project-related table of all recorded receipts with filters for period, project, employees and receipt type as well as an export function. Available to administrators, controllers, project managers with budget responsibility, and department managers for the receipts of their departments.

Project Sales Volume

Shows revenue per project for a selectable period. The basis is the hourly and daily rates stored in the price tables and the recorded project times. With invoicing active, the report is called Project Billing. Available to administrators, controllers, and project managers with budget responsibility.

Customer Sales Volume

Summarizes revenue per customer across all assigned projects and can be printed with a signature block. With invoicing active, the report is called Customer Billing. Available to administrators and controllers.

Price Overview

Lists the applicable price tables per project with the stored hourly and daily rates. Available to administrators, controllers, and project managers with budget responsibility.

Project State Revenue

Compares Total Rates Internal (employee hours at internal rates) with planned and realized revenue, providing insight into the profitability of individual projects. Available to administrators and controllers.

Note: The Project State Revenue report is not available in ZEP Clock.

Employees

Under Reports > Employees, a central receipts report from the employee perspective is available.

Receipts Report

Employee-related table of all recorded receipts with filters for period, employees and receipt type as well as an export function. Available to administrators and controllers company-wide, and to department managers for the receipts of their departments. Employees see their own receipts.

Departments

Note: The department reports are only visible when the Departments module is licensed.

Under Reports > Departments, reports are available that break down costs, allocation, and total internal rates at department level.
