Work Items – Administration

Configuration of personal work item management — settings, status and priorities.

Written by Gideon Weller

The Work Items area in the administration configures personal work item management — settings, status values and priority levels. Reachable via the main menu under Administration > Work Items. Detail workflow for work item entry is described in Work Items from the Personal area collection.

Note: The area is available in ZEP Compact and ZEP Professional as a standard function and requires no booked add-on module. In ZEP Clock the area is not available.

Configuration areas

The three subareas control the central configuration of work item management — from general display rules to status values for the workflow to selectable priorities.

Settings

General settings for work item management — default values for new work items, configuration of the work item list, visibility rules for project work items, default columns in list and Kanban board as well as notification behavior on assignments. These settings affect all work items company-wide.

Status

List of status values that a work item can take on — typically „open", „in progress", „done" or custom values. Per status, designation, short form, color, sort order and the default-board visibility flag can be maintained. Status values appear as Kanban columns and in the filter selection.

Priorities

List of priority levels that can be assigned to a work item — for example „low", „medium", „high" or „urgent". Per priority, designation, color and sort order can be maintained. Priorities appear as a colored pill on the Kanban card and in the work item list, and they can be changed inline.

Effects on other areas

The work item configuration affects personal work item management of all employees — detail documentation on work item entry and Kanban editing is available in Work Items. Status values and priorities also appear in cross-module reports if work item widgets are activated in the Dashboard.
