The Resource Planning area in the administration bundles the settings around employee and project schedulings — general behavior rules and automatic mail templates. Reachable via the main menu under Administration > Resource Planning. Detail workflow for scheduling entry and plan/actual comparison is described in the Resource planning collection.
Note: The area requires the Resource planning module and is available in ZEP Compact and ZEP Professional. In ZEP Clock the area is not available.
Configuration areas
The two subareas control how schedulings work in ZEP and which automatic notifications are dispatched. They form the basis of the detail workflows in the Resource Planning collection and affect the daily planning work of project leads, controllers and employees.
Settings
General settings for resource planning such as the activation of self-scheduling, the behavior with schedulings on non-working days, display of total workload in the work packages area as well as default rights for controllers. These settings have a system-wide effect on all employees and affect the visibility of the self-scheduling function in the personal area of individual employees.
Mail templates
Templates for automatic mails around schedulings, for example notifications on new schedulings, reminders before upcoming scheduling periods or hints with workload conflicts. Per template, subject, main body and placeholders (such as project name, period, hour count) can be maintained, separately per language for multilingual recipients.
Effects on other areas
The resource planning settings affect the self-service articles Planning and Work packages in the Personal area. Detail documentation on scheduling entry, plan/actual comparison and reports is part of the Resource planning collection.
